How to Train Dogs
The essence of training dogs is to establish conditioned reflexes, connecting commands and actions in dogs' minds. For example, every time we ring a bell, we give the dog food. Over time, the dog will salivate when the bell is rang even without food. Using this principle, we should give the dog rewards when it does something right, reinforcing the action repeatedly. During the training process, remember not to hit or scold the dog, as it will not solve any problems.
Dog Personality
A dog's personality is mainly related to individual differences, breed, growth environment, and owner's education. For example, domesticated dogs are usually friendly, obedient, loyal, active, and cheerful; stray dogs are often sensitive, cautious, and timid; and wild dogs are usually cruel, animalistic, brave, fearless, and confident.
Changes in Dog Personality After Neutering/spaying*
- If a dog's personality becomes worse after neutering/spaying, it may be because it holds a grudge. The dog believes that its owner brought it to the hospital causing pain, so it starts to hate its owner and refuses to let the owner touch it. With time, this will improve, and the owner can spend more time playing with it or feed it some treats. 2. If the personality improves after neutering/spaying, it's because the hormone level decreases, making the dog's temperament better. The effect may be more significant in male dogs, but it usually takes a long time to affect the hormone level.
How to Train Dogs
Dog training usually involves using food to entice the dog. It's best to feed the dog only seven-tenths of its meal before training. The main reward for training is usually snacks or dog food. When the dog performs a correct action or behavior, give it a snack or dog food as a reward, but don't give rewards when it makes a mistake. Repeat this process, and the dog will learn the correct way to behave. If you need to train the dog to handle more complex issues, such as eating random objects or biting people, it's best to seek professional help.
