Can baby goat milk be given to kittens?

Cats are not supposed to drink infant formula, nor are they supposed to drink pure milk or yogurt. If the kitten is still in the nursing stage, owners can purchase pet goat milk instead of breast milk to feed them. If the kitten is over 3-4 months old, the owner can directly feed the kitten kitten food and appropriately feed goat milk.

Symptoms of sick kittens

When kittens are sick in their young age, they usually show the following symptoms: gastrointestinal symptoms such as severe diarrhea and vomiting, which may be caused by parvovirus, tapeworm, roundworm, trichomonas, and other gastrointestinal parasites, as well as enterotoxigenic Clostridium perfringens; sneezing, increased nasal and eye secretions, and conjunctivitis, which may be caused by feline calicivirus, herpesvirus, and chlamydia.

Foods that kittens cannot eat

  1. Milk: It is best not to give kittens milk because it has a high lactose content, which can easily cause lactose intolerance and diarrhea.
  2. High-salt foods: Cats are sensitive to salt, and excessive salt can easily cause salt poisoning, as well as increased eye secretions and increased burden on the kidneys.
  3. Toxic foods: Especially plant and flower foods, many of which can cause poisoning in cats. Therefore, prevent cats from eating them by accident.
  4. Fatty meat: It is best not to give fatty meat to kittens because it is easy to cause indigestion, vomiting, and even diarrhea.

What to feed kittens

Kittens are fragile because their body functions are not yet fully developed. In addition to kitten food, it is better to feed them some fish or meat, or some fruits and vegetables. Ideal food for cats: well-cooked beef, pork, chicken breast, and eggs. Also, when feeding kittens, pay attention to the amount and hygiene of the food.
