Can dogs drink water?
Yes, they can drink water. However, it is not recommended for newly born puppies to drink water, and they should drink breast milk or goat milk instead. After weaning, they can drink a little water, but not too much, as too much water consumption may cause diarrhea. The water should be clean and warm boiled water. Because the needs of dogs vary depending on their breed and the season they face, you can choose to provide water round the clock in later stages of raising them.
Points to note when drinking water
It is better to drink boiled water. Do not drink raw water, as tap water and raw water in our daily lives may contain potential pathogens, such as梨形鞭毛虫, which can cause soft stools and diarrhea in dogs. Also, dogs cannot drink mineral water, as it may increase the risk of specific urinary system stones. And when going to the beach in summer, do not let dogs drink seawater, as it can lead to salt poisoning and systemic symptoms of poisoning.
Feeding precautions
After weaning, puppies under three months old should be given wet food, such as feeding softened dog food with goat milk or warm water. After three months, you can gradually switch to dry dog food. Feed your dog at regular intervals, and puppies should be fed 3-4 times a day. The amount of food fed daily should be selected according to the dog's weight and the reference table on the dog food packaging.
