What does it mean when a cat lets you touch its head?
Cats not only enjoy being touched on their heads by their owners, but also like having their backs and bellies stroked. In the eyes of cats, this is a manifestation of their owner's love and a source of pleasure. Therefore, whenever their owner touches their heads, they always show a delighted expression. Even if the owner stops stroking, they don't want to leave and may even actively rub against the owner's hand, hoping for a longer period of affection.
Why do cats like to be touched on the head?
There are several reasons why cats like to be touched on the head. First, cats often cannot reach their own heads to scratch them, so if their heads itch, they enjoy being scratched or touched by humans. Second, when cats are young, their mothers often lick their heads, so when owners touch their heads, cats feel comfortable, secure, and regain a sense of security, hence their preference for being touched on the head.
Ways to show that a cat likes you:
- Kneading: For cats, kneading is a behavior they only do when they are young and nursing, expressing their happiness and joy.
- Wagging tail to welcome you: When you come home, if your cat walks towards you with its tail held high, it's expressing its love for you.
- Belly up: The belly is the most vulnerable part of an animal, so when a cat shows you its belly, it means it trusts you very much.
- Licking you: When cats express friendship towards their own kind, they groom each other, so when a cat licks you, it's showing its affection for you.
- Squinting and rubbing against you: This indicates friendship and love, and also seeks attention, wanting to be stroked, played with, or given food.
How to make a cat like you:
Cats love to eat, so to make a cat like you, prepare plenty of tasty treats for it, such as cans or chicken breast, and feed it daily. Cats care about hygiene, so if you regularly take care of its hygiene and stroke it, don't use violence towards the cat. Spend time playing with it and adopt a gentle attitude when interacting with it, allowing the cat to develop a fondness and trust for you.
