How many varieties of cats are there?

It is estimated that there are over 100 existing breeds of cats in the world, with more than 30 being common. Cats can be categorized into four main groups: first, Western and foreign breeds; second, purebred and mixed-breed cats; third, domestic and wild cats; and fourth, long-haired and short-haired cats.

Cat Breeds

There are many varieties of cats, such as British Shorthair, American Shorthair, Ragdoll, Siamese, Tabby, Persian, Golden Retriever, Scottish Fold, Russian Blue, Garfield, Sphynx, Bengal, Leopard, Himalayan, Maine Coon, Birmans, Bombay, Norwegian Forest, British Curly, Tiffany Cat, etc.

Noble Cat Breeds

Noble cat breeds include Persians, Ragdolls, British Shorthairs, American Shorthairs, Canadian Hairless, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats, Munchkin, American Curl, Garfield, Chinchilla, Siamese, Devonshire, etc. Different people have different preferences for cats; as long as you love it, it can be a noble cat.

Small Cat Breeds

Among the smaller cat breeds are Himalayan, Singapore, Oriental Shorthair, teacup cats, black-footed cats, and tortoiseshell cats. These cats weigh around 3 kilograms, with the tortoiseshell cat weighing 0.8-1.6 kilograms and the black-footed cat averaging 1.6 kilograms. They are some of the smallest cat breeds in the world.
