Cat drools and seizures continuously

Cat drooling and seizuring continuously may be caused by poisoning, epilepsy, feline distemper, and other reasons. Regardless of the cause, this situation is extremely dangerous for cats. If not treated in time, cats may have life-threatening seizures at any moment. Therefore, it is recommended that owners bring their cats to a pet hospital as soon as they notice any abnormalities to avoid irreversible consequences.

  1. Poisoning

If a cat accidentally eats toxic substances such as rat poison, cockroach poison, disinfectant, etc., it will harm the cat's nerves and cause symptoms like drooling and continuous seizures. In severe cases, it can lead to shock or even death. Therefore, when owners discover that their cats have come into contact with poison and show symptoms, they should take their cats to a pet hospital promptly for detoxification treatment to avoid reaching a point of no return.

  1. Epilepsy

If a cat experiences drooling and continuous seizures along with symptoms like incontinence, partial or whole-body convulsions, shivering, and unconscious limb movements, it may be a seizure. The duration of a seizure usually ranges from 1 to 3 minutes. In this case, owners should try to make the cat as comfortable as possible, avoid external stimuli, and prevent mechanical injuries. Then take the cat to a pet hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

  1. Feline Distemper

In the later stages of feline distemper, abnormal nerve function in cats can lead to seizures and drooling. It also occurs along with symptoms like lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, and hemorrhoids.尤其是疫苗接种不全或未接种的猫更容易感染猫瘟。因为猫瘟传染性强,死亡率高,所以主人一定要及时将猫咪送往宠物医院治疗。
