Symptoms of Cat Hernia

Cat hernias mainly include umbilical hernia, traumatic abdominal wall hernia, inguinal hernia, and perineal hernia. The most direct external manifestation is the appearance of a bulging meat bag, with the exception of diaphragmatic hernia. In the early stage of most hernias, there will be no pain, and some hernia contents can return to their original positions, thus not causing tissue or organ dysfunction. It is recommended that owners take their cats to the hospital for inspection as soon as they discover a hernia, to determine whether surgical repair of the hernia site is necessary, so as not to delay the condition and cause secondary diseases.

  1. Umbilical Hernia

The clinical symptoms of umbilical hernia mainly include: a round or oval bulge at the cat's navel, soft to touch, without redness, swelling, or pain, and the cat will not show any discomfort.

  1. Traumatic Abdominal Wall Hernia

The clinical symptoms of traumatic abdominal wall hernia mainly include: a soft, flat or hemispherical protrusion formed on the cat's abdominal wall or belly wall, with abrasion marks on the surface.

  1. Inguinal Hernia

The clinical symptoms of inguinal hernia mainly include: a round or oval swelling at the cat's inner thigh near the inguinal region, of varying sizes.

  1. Perineal Hernia

The typical symptoms of perineal hernia mainly include: a limited round or oval bulge on the side or lower side of the cat's anus.
