Cat suddenly starts frequenting nursing
Why does a cat suddenly start frequenting nursing?
A cat suddenly starting to nurse frequently may be trying to express that its physical maturity has made it more sensitive to its owner's touch, or that it actively seeks affection by frequent nursing to achieve psychological satisfaction. Nursing in cats is nothing to worry about, as it usually occurs when the cat is in a happy mood, and it is a way for them to express their liking and closeness to their owners.
Reasons for cat nursing
Cats nurse mainly when they are young and need to drink their mother's milk. While drinking, they can't help but use their claws to press against their mother's breasts. Therefore, in their impression, the feeling of nursing is very happy. So, when an adult cat starts nursing, it means they are extremely delighted. Nursing cats will also emit purring sounds, which express their joyful mood.
Cat's legs trembling after nursing
If a cat's legs tremble after nursing, it is most likely due to long-term calcium deficiency. Owners are advised to supplement their cat's nutrition and calcium promptly. Otherwise, it may cause leg deformities, such as "O" legs or "X" legs. Additionally, it could be due to a rear leg injury that makes movement difficult. Owners should check if there are any external injuries on the cat's rear legs and take them to the pet hospital for inspection and treatment if necessary.
What to do if a cat nurses frequently
Cat nursing is a natural instinctual behavior. Young cats stimulate their mother's mammary glands by nursing, causing her to produce more milk. This habit is preserved in adulthood, and cats will exhibit this behavior when they are happy, secure, and comfortable. Sometimes, they will also emit purring sounds. There is no need to worry, as this is a normal behavior.
