Diarrhea in kittens

Diarrhea clinically refers to diarrhea, and diarrhea in kittens may be caused by reasons such as cold exposure, diet change, food allergies, and enteritis. First of all, if the diarrhea is caused by cold exposure and diet change, it is a normal physiological phenomenon and generally does not require excessive worry. If the diarrhea is abnormal and accompanied by other symptoms, such as skin itching, abdominal pain, etc., it is recommended that the owner take the kitten to a regular hospital for inspection, clarify the cause under the guidance of the doctor, and conduct standardized treatment, which is beneficial to the improvement of the kitten's discomfort.

  1. Cold exposure

If the weather is relatively cold and the kitten's abdominal warmth is not well taken care of, it may lead to the invasion of cold wind into the abdomen, causing intestinal damage, and symptoms such as increased bowel movements and mild abdominal pain. It is necessary to keep the kitten warm and feed it with warm boiled water, which can relieve the diarrhea and generally does not require drug treatment.

  1. Diet change

If you suddenly change the kitten's food, it will lead to unreasonable diet because the kitten's stomach function has not yet fully developed. Sudden food change affects the normal digestion of food, resulting in diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc. You need to adjust the time of changing food, and cannot suddenly change food, but slowly increase the amount of cat food.

  1. Food allergies

If the kitten develops food allergies, it will cause skin redness, itching, etc. If not handled in time, it may lead to increased body allergies and abnormal bowel movements. You can give the kitten anti-histamine drugs under the guidance of the doctor, which can control the damage caused by allergies to the body and intestine.

  1. Enteritis

Usually caused by microbial infection, it causes inflammatory reactions in the intestine, such as abdominal distension, diarrhea, bloody stools, etc. In severe cases, it may cause dehydration and require antibiotics and diarrhea medication under the doctor's advice.
