Dog breathing quickly

The reasons for a dog to breathe quickly can be roughly divided into two categories: physiological reasons and pathological reasons.

Physiological reasons: emotional tension, excitement, or after intense physical activity, etc., but these usually have a short duration and usually recover spontaneously.

Pathological reasons: pneumonia, heart disease, or reduced hemoglobin, etc. If the cause is pathological, it is necessary to take the dog to the veterinarian in time.

  1. Exercise reasons

If the dog has just undergone intense exercise, such as rapid running or playing with the owner, it will have rapid breathing. At this time, the owner does not need to worry too much, as this is a normal physiological phenomenon. As long as the dog eats and drinks normally and has a normal spirit, there is nothing to worry about.

  1. Disease reasons

If a dog is infected with a disease, such as laryngitis, asthma, etc., it will also have symptoms of rapid breathing. In this case, the dog needs to be taken to a pet hospital for examination to determine the cause of the disease and then treat it accordingly.

  1. Heat reasons

Dog sweat glands are not well developed, and their heat dissipation is relatively poor. Generally, when the weather is hot, dogs will breathe quickly to dissipate heat. At this time, owners need to provide more water for the dog, and it is also appropriate to turn on the fan or air conditioning to cool the dog down.
