Dog vomiting mucus-like substance

If your dog starts to vomit a mucus-like substance, the first thing you should consider is whether it is stomach fluid. The main causes of dogs vomiting stomach fluid are infectious factors, and it may also be due to gastrointestinal obstruction. Clinically, specific causes can be identified through tests such as CRP, complete blood count, and abdominal DR imaging. The last possibility is that there is an object in the dog's intestine causing these symptoms. In this case, it is necessary to remove the object promptly through endoscopy or surgery.

  1. Distemper and Parvovirus

Dogs who haven't been vaccinated are more susceptible to distemper and parvovirus. Regular vaccination can reduce the risk significantly. If your dog is vomiting mucus and has symptoms such as fever, rhinorrhea, and diarrhea, you should take it to the vet as soon as possible for examination and treatment based on the results.

  1. Gastrointestinal Issues

If your dog is vomiting white foam, and the vomit is a semi-transparent liquid, there is a high probability that it has a gastrointestinal problem. It is likely that the gastric mucosa is damaged or there is too much stomach acid. In this case, you need to consider your dog's diet and check if it has eaten anything it shouldn't have.

  1. Accidental Ingestion of Foreign Objects

If your dog accidentally eats a large bone, plastic, or metal object, it may also cause symptoms similar to those mentioned above. In this case, you should take your dog to the vet promptly for examination and treatment.
