Feline Distemper and Parvovirus Disinfection

Feline distemper and parvovirus are similar diseases caused by parvovirus infections, which lead to enteritis. These diseases are caused by small viruses, with clinical symptoms mainly including diarrhea, vomiting, and decreased appetite. Parvovirus is excreted in feces and can survive in the environment if not disinfected properly, still posing an infection risk.

Parvovirus Disinfection Methods

  1. Since parvovirus is resistant to many disinfectants, it is recommended to use disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium compounds for disinfection.

  2. Disinfectants should remain in the contaminated area for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Contaminated items need to be soaked in disinfectant for 15 to 30 minutes.

Points to Note

  1. It is recommended not to raise cats or dogs again within half a year.

  2. Cat excrement should not be disposed of randomly, and it is recommended to wrap it in plastic bags before disposal.
