Getting to the Bottom of Teddy Dog Tear Stains

Teddy dogs are adorable and well-behaved, but many pet owners are likely wondering why they have so many tear stains. Let's dive into how tear stains form on Teddy dogs!

  1. Irritated Tears

None of the fur around the eye should be left behind, and don't leave eyelashes behind either. Those cute online dog photos are usually edited with makeup, glue, and Photoshop. In reality, even if your dog has long eyelashes, they'll only cause irritation and make the dog cry.

  1. Diet

Observe your dog for at least a week after changing its food. If neither of the two types of food improve the situation, it's not caused by the dog food. Don't feed your dog low-cost food! It's better to eat human food or starve! Don't ever stop giving water!

  1. Heat Stroke

Only after installing a surveillance camera did we realize that every day, two hours before the owner comes home, the dog starts running towards the door every time there's a car lock or footstep outside. Even if you provide your dog with a luxurious environment, its pursuit is you, following you and watching you. If your dog's tear stains have recently increased, it might be because you've spent too much time making money and neglecting your companion. If your dog is active and runs around like a maniac, ignores you when you're not there, and is friendly with everyone, ignore this point. Some dogs will even eat cotton and still produce regular poop, but they don't experience heat stroke.

  1. Genetic Inheritance

Nine out of ten Bichon Frises have red faces, and even competition dogs need to be made up to hide their tear stains. Professional dog breeders study this breed, and if there was a solution, they would use it. Whether it's diet, supplements, or therapy, temporary relief can be achieved, but it doesn't solve the root problem. Other dogs' magical recovery is only because their tear duct problems are also caused by external factors. Our short-faced, adorable Teddy dogs, which are actually poorly bred Poodles, along with breeds like Bichon Frises, Pekingese, and Maltese, have small mouths, narrow nasal ducts, and bent channels that block the eyes' secretions from being excreted through the nose. Besides consistently massaging to unclog the ducts, there's no instant solution. For mild cases, you can simply trim the tear stains, and for severe cases, you can use makeup to cover them up if you don't mind the hassle.
