How long does it take to completely remove roundworms from a dog's body?
Roundworms in a dog's body usually take 1-2 months to completely remove. During the deworming period, the owner can observe whether there are still egg residues in the dog's feces and monitor the dog's physical and mental state. Generally, if the dog stops vomiting, diarrhea, and losing weight, and its mental state gradually improves, it indicates that the roundworms in the body have been completely removed.
If roundworms have already infected your dog, timely use of deworming drugs is necessary. However, most internal and external deworming drugs have not been shown to be particularly effective in killing roundworm eggs. It usually takes three consecutive deworming sessions to completely remove the worm body, so the deworming cycle needs to be maintained for a relatively long period of time, usually 1-2 months.
The owner can determine whether the roundworms in the dog's body have been completely removed by performing periodic fecal examinations. If no roundworm eggs are found in the feces, it indicates that the roundworms in the dog's body have been removed.
The owner can also observe the changes in the dog's physical state after deworming. If the dog's weight gradually returns to normal, its mental state improves, vomiting and diarrhea symptoms disappear, and feces gradually become formed, these are all positive signs indicating that the roundworms in the dog's body have been mostly removed and the dog has recovered its health.
