How to fatten a thin Teddy bear dog
It is necessary to distinguish whether the thinness of a Teddy bear dog is due to nutritional reasons or pathological reasons. If the thinness is caused by nutritional reasons, the owner should pay attention to balanced nutrition, feed the Teddy with dog food rich in nutrients, adopt the principle of feeding less but more meals, and can also feed sheep milk powder, nutritional paste, etc. Meanwhile, strengthen the exercise and increase the amount of food intake. If the thinness is caused by pathological reasons, timely treatment of related diseases is required, such as parasite infections, which require the timely use of related deworming drugs.
- Pay attention to balanced diet
If the food usually given to the Teddy is relatively single, resulting in lack of nutrition, it will become thin. Therefore, the owner should pay attention to balanced nutrition when feeding the Teddy, switch to a dog food rich in nutrients, and eat eggs, chicken breast, vegetables and fruits, etc. Adopt the feeding method of less food but more meals to avoid burdening the stomach and intestines.
- Feed nutritional paste or sheep milk powder
In addition to paying attention to balanced nutrition, the owner can also feed the dog nutritional paste, which can help the dog quickly supplement nutrients. However, the owner needs to control the feeding amount to prevent the dog from experiencing indigestion. Besides nutritional paste, the owner can also feed a suitable amount of sheep milk powder to young dogs to supplement nutrients and promote their growth and development.
- Strengthen exercise
Appropriate exercise can promote the growth of the dog. Therefore, the owner should strengthen the Teddy's exercise, take it for walks more often, or interact with it using toys. This can not only increase the Teddy's food intake but also improve its physical fitness.
- Regular deworming
If the owner has previously supplemented the Teddy with abundant nutrition but it is still thin, it may be due to a large number of parasites in its body. Parasites absorb nutrients from the dog's body, causing the dog to remain thin no matter how much it eats. In this case, the owner is advised to take the Teddy to the pet hospital for a fecal examination to check for parasites. If found, follow the guidance of a veterinarian to choose an appropriate deworming drug.
Note: The owner should not unilaterally pursue a fat Teddy dog. If the Teddy dog is overweight for a long time, it can easily cause diseases such as pancreatitis in the later stage. It is recommended to take the Teddy dog for appropriate exercise daily and feed it moderately, which can help it develop good physical fitness.
