Share of the Whole Process of Curing Dog Fungal Skin Disease

When a pet dog is infected with fungus, it will experience local hair loss and broken hair, patchy red skin, and a high infection rate. To accurately determine whether the dog has a fungal skin disease, a professional examination at a hospital is necessary.

When my dog was infected with fungus, I noticed that one part of its body had peeling skin, and the hair was gone. I couldn't determine whether it was a fungal skin disease with the naked eye, so I took it to the hospital for a scraping and microscope examination.

There are many factors that can cause hair loss on the skin, including common fungal skin diseases and endocrine disorders. As I couldn't determine the exact cause, I chose the most conservative method, fungal treatment, which involved using medication. Each drug must be tested by doctors, and I used Pyoderma Spray and Tea Tree Oil for my dog.

Usage: Apply Pyoderma Spray to the affected area twice a day for a week, then once a day afterwards. I also applied Tea Tree Oil once a week for a week in the middle to promote hair growth. At the time, I couldn't guarantee that new hair would grow back.

Dietary precautions: I kept my dog on its regular dog food, but replaced the fish flavor with duck-flavored food. I basically stopped giving it snacks.

After about a month, my dog began to grow new hair, but it was thin and dark in color, with coarse texture. The skin color was dark because I used Pyodermin during the treatment. I highly recommend not using Pyodermin indiscriminately, as it contains irritants and hormones, which can sometimes have an opposite effect on skin diseases.

Now, more than two months later, my dog's fungal disease is almost healed. Its hair is now normal. Therefore, fellow pet owners, skin diseases are not difficult to treat; the key is persistence!

Treatment insights:

  • Regularly clean and disinfect the living environment, especially focusing on utensils and bedding.
  • When owners interact with dogs outside, they should always wash and clean themselves at home to avoid cross-infection. The best disinfection method is to expose items to sunlight.
  • Choose high-quality, regular dog food. If you prepare homemade food for your dog, cook it thoroughly and finely chop the main dish, meat, and vegetables. Don't add salt or spices, and milk may cause diarrhea and skin allergies. You can also feed your dog MAG Lecithin Fish Oil Granules to promote skin recovery.
