What is the cause of a dog's panting sound like asthma?
A dog's panting sound like asthma may be caused by various reasons, such as foreign objects in the nose, intense exercise, and respiratory infections. Here are the possible causes:
Foreign objects in the nose: If a dog accidentally inhales hair, flies, or stones等objects into its nose, it will obstruct breathing and produce a panting sound. The owner can observe the dog's nose under light to see if there are any visible foreign objects. If so, try rinsing the dog's nose with saline solution to wash out the objects.
Intense exercise: After intense exercise, a dog may experience shortness of breath, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. As long as the dog's mental and appetite status is normal, the owner doesn't need to worry too much. Just move the dog to a shady and well-ventilated area to rest and prepare some water for it.
Respiratory infections: If the dog not only produces a panting sound but also shows symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, coughing, decreased mental and appetite status, and fever, it may be caused by a respiratory infection. The increased secretions in the nose lead to difficulty breathing and panting. It is advised to take the dog to a pet hospital for treatment immediately.
