What to do when a young dog keeps barking at night
The dog's continuous barking is due to emotional tension. Puppies who have just left their mother and entered a strange environment are very vulnerable inside. Like children, they may be afraid of the dark when they sleep alone. At this time, the owner can arrange the dog's bed in a place where the dog can see you, or leave a lamp on, or cover the cage with a blanket. This kind of environment, similar to a "cave", can effectively alleviate the dog's fear and nervousness.
How to alleviate a dog's nervousness:
Dogs are born alert and sensitive, especially in the early morning. Any sound will attract their attention and cause them to bark. All we need to do is comfort them when they wake up, let them know that there's nothing to worry about with this sound, and they will relax their vigilance and stop barking.
Owners can prepare some food for the puppy before bedtime. Puppies should be fed smaller meals more frequently. Puppies are quite dependent on their owners. If they can't see the owner when they go to sleep, they will keep barking to call for the owner. To solve this, owners can place the dog's bed near their own bed or at the bedroom door, so that the dog can feel that the owner is nearby and will quiet down. If the dog sleeps too much during the day and doesn't have enough energy to expend, it will be more active at night. It is recommended that owners play with their dogs before bedtime to consume their energy. When the dog is tired, it won't bark randomly at night.
If the above methods don't work and the dog still keeps barking, it's time to consider whether the dog is uncomfortable due to a health issue. If the dog is uncomfortable, it will also bark continuously at night and may show signs of lethargy and loss of appetite. Owners should check their dog's physical condition in time, look for any injuries, and seek medical attention promptly if there are any abnormalities.
