Can Teddy Bears Eat Fruits?

In normal cases, some fruits are safe for Teddy Bears to eat. Fruits are rich in vitamins and offer many benefits to dogs. However, if a dog is too young or suffering from enteritis, some fruits should not be consumed. Additionally, some fruits are toxic to dogs and can cause diarrhea or even poisoning.

Fruits That Teddy Bears Can Eat

Dogs can eat apples, bananas, and watermelons. Apples and bananas are rich in vitamins and dietary fiber, which can help improve gastrointestinal movement and prevent constipation. Bananas are also abundant in potassium, which helps maintain electrolyte balance in dogs. Watermelons can replenish water and provide a cooling effect when fed in small amounts. However, it is not recommended to feed fruits to dogs with weak digestion.

Fruits That Teddy Bears Should Not Eat

Fruits that are toxic to dogs include grapes and avocados. Consuming a certain amount of these fruits can lead to dog poisoning or even death. It is adviseable not to feed dogs with plum, loquat, cherry, mango, and pineapple等 fruits. Instead, feed them with bananas, blueberries, strawberries, and apples.

Points to Note When Feeding Teddy Bears Fruits

Generally speaking, it is not recommended to feed fruits to dogs under two months old. Dogs at this age have fragile intestines, and fruits usually have a high water content, which can easily cause diarrhea. If you want to feed your dog fruits, choose those with less water content and only feed a little bit. Let them taste a small amount and avoid feeding too much to prevent excessive sugar intake that could lead to obesity or diarrhea.
