When the accumulated feces have been basically eliminated, and the feces have no acidic smell but still have severe diarrhea,收敛药物 such as activated carbon should be given to stop diarrhea. For dogs with bleeding symptoms, hemorrhage control measures should be taken, such as intramuscular injection of hemocoagulant. For parasitic enteritis, deworming drugs should be administered.
Canine Gastritis Treatment
Firstly, fasting should be imposed on the dog for 1-2 days. To prevent dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, fluid replacement should be given to the sick dog, either via intravenous drip of Ringer's solution or lactate compound sodium chloride solution.
Clear the gastrointestinal tract: Appropriate laxatives (such as sodium sulfate, artificial salt) should be taken orally.
Anti-inflammation and diarrhea relief: Use berberine (0.1~0.5 g), taken orally 3 times a day. Among antibiotics, choose from aureomycin, tetracycline, or chloramphenicol. For non-bacterial enteritis, when the accumulated feces have been basically eliminated, and the feces have no acidic smell but still have severe diarrhea, give收敛 drugs such as activated carbon to stop diarrhea.
For dogs with bleeding symptoms, take hemorrhage control measures and give intramuscular injection of hemocoagulant.
Stop vomiting, use gastrocamine 1~2 mg/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, 2 times a day.
For parasitic enteritis, in addition to the above treatment, deworming drugs should be administered. See specific treatment for roundworm disease.
Precautions during treatment:
Canine gastritis cannot tolerate coarse or irritating foods. Prepare fresh and easily digestible food for the dog. Feed the dog in small meals throughout the day to avoid adding burden to the dog's stomach and intestines. During the stage of stomach and intestinal discomfort, do not give the dog snacks. All items that may stimulate the dog's stomach and intestines should be prohibited. You can feed the dog milk, eggs, and minced meat etc.
