Canine Urinary Tract Infection Treatment During Pregnancy

Title

When treating a dog for a disease during pregnancy, blind medication use is not allowed. Urinary tract infections usually manifest as difficulties in urination, painful urination, cloudy urine (mixed with pus or blood), linear urine, dog's suffering and restlessness, painful urinary incontinence, and inflammatory pain during urination. The first step is to reduce inflammation, which can be done by injecting long-acting antibiotics or taking oral antibiotics.

Urinary Tract Infection Treatment

The treatment of canine urinary tract infections must be individualized and should be based on the disappearance of clinical symptoms, abnormal urine sediment, and negative urine culture results. Ordinarily, non-complicated urinary tract infections should be treated for 2-3 weeks. Commonly used drugs include enrofloxacin-based medications to treat infections, along with analgesics and urinary tract protective agents. Drink plenty of water and maintain a regular diet. If it is a complicated urinary tract infection, medication should be taken under a doctor's advice.

Urinary Tract Infection Symptoms

Urinary tract infections are generally caused by injured urethral mucosa leading to infection or spreading of adjacent organ inflammation. The main clinical symptoms include swollen, sensitive penis, and reddened and swollen urethral opening. Patients often experience difficulty and pain during urination, cloudy urine accompanied by pus or blood; sometimes necrotic or detached urethral mucosa can be discharged. If these symptoms appear, consult a veterinarian promptly to control inflammation.

How to Clean a Dog's Urinary Tract

When cleaning a dog's urinary tract, it is recommended to purchase cleaning drugs under the guidance of a pet doctor. First, consider the cause of the dog's urinary tract infection, whether it is bacterial or other pathogens, and then treat accordingly. If caused by bacterial infection, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs can be used for cleaning. In addition, antibiotics must be combined with cleaning drugs for better results.
