As long as there are no other abnormalities, the cat usually can vomit out or excrete the plastic within 1-2 days. Therefore, there is no need for excessive worry.
If the cat has eaten plastic packaging paper and has not excreted the foreign object after two days, the owner should take the cat to the pet hospital for an X-ray examination to determine the location of the plastic packaging paper. If the plastic is still in the stomach, induce vomiting to make the cat vomit out the plastic. If the plastic has already entered the intestines and blocked the intestines, surgery is needed to remove the plastic as soon as possible.
If the cat has eaten a large amount of plastic packaging paper and its mental state is poor, it is advisable for the owner to take the cat to the pet hospital as soon as possible for inspection and treatment, including induced vomiting, enema, or surgery removal.
