To do this, gently part the dog's fur and divide the medication into 3-5 points along the spine from top to bottom. Ensure that the dog does not lick the medication for at least two hours after application. Internal deworming mostly involves oral tablets, some of which may cause gastrointestinal reactions, such as vomiting. If worms are present in the dog's body, they may experience diarrhea after taking the medication. If diarrhea occurs, it is best to visit a pet hospital for a fecal examination.

Internal Deworming Precautions

Internal deworming should be administered either before or after the dog's meal, three hours beforehand. Otherwise, it may easily cause vomiting. The dosage of deworming medication depends on the dog's weight and should not be exceeded, as this can lead to poisoning. Always purchase pet-specific deworming products and avoid giving human deworming medication, which has a higher dosage. After the deworming process, check the dog's feces for white worm segments. If found, consider administering another dose after half a month.

External Deworming Precautions

External deworming primarily aims to eliminate fleas, ticks, and other parasites. It is generally recommended to deworm once every 1-3 months. External deworming products come in drops and sprays. When using a spray, massage the medication into the dog's fur repeatedly, avoiding the eyes. Allow the skin and fur to dry naturally for optimal results.

Puppy Deworming Precautions

It is recommended to start deworming a puppy for the first time when it is 6 weeks old, with weekly treatments for a month. The dosage of deworming medication is usually determined by the dog's weight, but the specific amount should be consulted from the product's instructions. During the deworming process, it is essential to choose dog-specific products for a safer experience.
