Symptoms of Dog Ear Mites
Dog ear mites symptoms:
- Shaking head
- Black or brown ear discharge
- Frequent itching and scratching of the ears
- Odor in the ear canal
To diagnose dog ear mites, collect ear canal secretions for microscope examination. Treatment usually involves using medications containing compounds such as furaltan. Clean the ear canal thoroughly before applying medication. Prevention includes regular deworming and ear cleaning.
Signs of ear mites in dogs:
- Head shaking
- Dark brown or black ear discharge with a foul smell
Diagnosis requires taking the dog to a veterinarian for an ear canal secretion examination under a microscope. Live mites can be seen under the lens. To check for mites at home, place collected secretions on a dark background. Live mites appear as small white moving spots. But肉眼观察并不准确,建议就医检查。
