Is the dog's peach red and swollen due to inflammation?
The dog's peach will show signs of inflammation such as redness and swelling. Normally, during the estrus period, the dog's vulva will gradually swell. After the estrus period, the vulva of a dog that has not been mated will gradually decrease in size and return to normal. In dogs that have been mated and are pregnant, the vulva will continue to swell until the expected delivery date, preparing for the birth of the litter.
Symptoms of Peach Inflammation
The inflamed dog peach shows local redness, heat, pain, fluid leakage, and local ulceration and abscess formation. If the owner does not treat the dog in time, the inflammation will develop into the late stage, and the dog's reproductive ability will be affected. Therefore, it is recommended that the owner bring the dog to the hospital for treatment in time when the above symptoms are found.
Causes of Secretions from the Peach
There are similar symptoms in dog secretions, which are usually caused by the following reasons: It may be due to the fluid flowing from the dog's vagina during the estrus period, which may contain a small amount of blood. If the dog has not undergone sterilization surgery, it may be caused by uterine pyometra. It is recommended to take the dog to a pet hospital for external genital secretion examination. If the secretion is purulent, further examination is recommended to confirm whether uterine pyometra is present.
What does the development of the peach look like for breeding?
Breeding requires waiting for the dog to be in heat. When the dog is in heat, the peach will become swollen and reddened, and the vulva will secrete blood-tinged fluid. The breeding opportunity is usually the day after the blood-tinged fluid is no longer seen. Regarding the breeding age, it is generally recommended to wait until the dog is one year old. If the breeding age is too young, there may be problems such as poor embryonic development or difficulty in giving birth.
