What are the symptoms of a dog with an upset stomach?
The main symptoms of a dog with an upset stomach include dark yellow urine, dry and hard stool, increased secretions from the eyes, bad breath, and a dry nose. First of all, it is recommended that the owner encourage the dog to drink more water to lubricate the intestines and prevent constipation. If the dog is unwilling to drink water, you can feed it food with a higher water content or add sheep's milk to the water. Secondly, the owner is advised to feed the dog some vegetables to help reduce the heat. Finally, if the above methods are not effective, it is necessary to consult a veterinarian in time and use some fire-reducing drugs for treatment.
- Dark yellow urine
Normal dog urine is usually a translucent light yellow color. When a dog has an upset stomach, its urine will turn from the usual translucent light yellow to a deep orange yellow, and the urine smell will significantly increase and become unpleasant. Therefore, if your dog has this symptom, it may be upset.
- Dry and hard stool
Usually, a dog's stool is moderately soft and hard, and its color is yellow or brown. However, if the dog is upset, the stool will become extremely dry, changing from normal yellow to dark brown and presenting in granular form, sometimes even turning black.
- Increased eye secretions
After a dog becomes upset, it may produce a large amount of eye secretions, and sometimes you can see tears welling up in its eyes. If not cleaned in time, it can even cause tear stains on the dog's face.
- Bad breath
Bad breath is also a noticeable symptom of an upset dog. If a dog has bad breath, it is recommended not to feed it soft food, as this can easily form tartar and exacerbate the breath. Moreover, oral diseases and excessive tartar buildup in dogs can also cause bad breath. If there are other abnormalities, it is best to consult a veterinarian in time.
- Dry nose
A dog's nose is usually moist, feeling like small water droplets when touched. However, after becoming upset, the dog's nose will become dry.
