Adverse Reactions of Dogs After Vaccination

It is normal for dogs to experience lethargy, loss of appetite, and mild vomiting after vaccination, and these reactions generally recover within one or two days. This is mainly caused by the weak viral characteristics of the vaccine and the different physical conditions of each dog. However, if your dog shows symptoms such as drooling, head swelling, and seizures after vaccination, it indicates that your dog is allergic to the vaccine and needs to be taken to the hospital for desensitization treatment.

  1. Because the vaccines administered belong to weak viruses and each dog has different physical conditions, it is normal to have some adverse reactions after vaccination. For example, mild vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, increased body temperature, etc., and generally recover within 1-2 days. Dog owners can spend more time with their dogs in their spare time and generally do not need to worry too much.

  2. However, if your dog shows more severe symptoms such as drooling, head swelling, and seizures after vaccination, it is most likely an allergic reaction caused by the vaccine. Consult a veterinarian immediately and take emergency desensitization measures for your dog, usually by injecting desensitizing needles.

  3. To avoid adverse reactions in dogs after vaccination or to minimize the harm to the dog's body, dog owners should ensure that their dogs are in perfect health when taking them for vaccination. Stay in the hospital for observation for about 20 minutes after the vaccination, and leave only when the dog shows no abnormal reactions. After returning home, avoid letting your dog engage in intense physical activity, and do not give your dog a bath for a week.
