Dog vomiting with yellow foam
Dog vomiting with yellow foam is often caused by various diseases. The first is digestive system diseases caused by improper diet, followed by gastrointestinal and other diseases, and finally gastrointestinal reactions caused by some infectious diseases. Owners can first restrict their dog's food and water intake for a day to see if they can recover gradually. If not, take them to the vet for treatment in a timely manner.
Diet-induced digestive system diseases
Acute vomiting occurs when dogs eat or drink too greedily. Don't be too worried, just correct their hurry-eating habits.
Another reason is that dogs do not have a regular schedule for eating, and if they are hungry for too long, they will vomit stomach acid, which is why it is yellow with foam.
Gastrointestinal problems and other diseases
Defense reaction after swallowing foreign objects. When a dog swallows a foreign object, the body's defensive response sends a vomiting signal to the brain if the object cannot be excreted through the digestive system. If the dog vomits after eating, it further confirms that they have swallowed a foreign object.
Acute or chronic gastroenteritis. In this case, dogs not only vomit but may also have intestinal reactions, such as loss of appetite, lethargy, and even bloody stools.
Some painful diseases can also cause dog vomiting, such as pancreatitis and nephritis.
Infectious diseases
Canine parvovirus. When a dog is infected with the canine parvovirus, they will vomit and may also have bloody stools. The stool will have a fishy smell.
Canine distemper. This virus not only causes vomiting but also leads to fever, decreasing appetite, and eventually refusing to eat.
