Dog vomits white foam, refuses to eat, and lacks energy
Dog vomits white foam, refuses to eat, and lacks energy may be caused by infectious diseases, poisoning, gastroenteritis, and other reasons. First, if the dog has not completed the vaccination schedule, it is likely caused by an infectious disease. The owner is advised to take the dog to a pet hospital for inspection. Secondly, if the dog's vomit is white or transparent mucus, it is mainly considered gastroenteritis. In addition, if the dog also has symptoms such as seizures and diarrhea, it is necessary to consider whether the dog is poisoned. It is recommended that the owner timely take the dog to a pet hospital to identify the cause of the disease and then treat it accordingly to prevent the condition from worsening.
- Infectious diseases
If a puppy has not completed the vaccination schedule and shows symptoms of vomiting white foam, refusing to eat, and lacking energy, it is likely to be infected with an infectious disease, such as parvovirus or distemper. In the later stage, the dog will have severe diarrhea or even bloody stools. If this is suspected, the owner is advised to take the dog to a pet hospital for testing. After confirmation of a viral infection, antiviral treatment, anti-vomiting, and anti-inflammatory measures are necessary.
If the puppy does not receive timely treatment at a pet hospital, it is likely to die because its immune system has not fully developed, and its resistance to pathogens is very low.
- Poisoning
Poisoning in dogs can manifest as lethargy, vomiting white foam or呕吐,diarrhea, seizures, etc., such as food poisoning, drug poisoning, and pesticide poisoning. Since there are no specific drugs for most poisonings, the owner should induce vomiting or diarrhea immediately after discovering the dog's poisoning, allowing the dog to expel the toxic substances it has swallowed. If the toxic substances have been absorbed by the body, prompt treatment at a pet hospital is necessary.
- Gastroenteritis
If the dog's vomit is white and transparent mucus, it is likely to be dog's stomach juice, which usually indicates severe gastroenteritis caused by damage to the dog's digestive system. Symptoms usually include vomiting white foam, loss of appetite, lethargy, and diarrhea. In this case, the owner can first feed the dog some probiotics to see if there is any relief. If the condition is severe, it is necessary to take the dog to a pet hospital for treatment in a timely manner.
