Can dog physiological periods drive away parasites?

Unless specifically stated otherwise, dog physiological periods can be eaten. Dog deworming drugs can be taken before meals, which will be better absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. After giving the deworming drug, wait for an hour before feeding and drinking. External deworming does not affect meal times. After the dog is dewormed, the owner needs to observe the dog's stool. If rice-like or thread-like worm eggs are excreted, it is recommended to repeat the deworming in two weeks and add nutrition to the dog.

Deworming Drug Principle

Selenium sulfide drugs cause rapid, fatal and non-spasmodic paralysis of the worm's neuromuscular system by interfering with the chloride channel controlled by glutamic acid in the worm, causing the worm to relax and die or be excreted. Ivermectin produces a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking effect on sensitive internal parasites, causing paralysis, and expels the worm through the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract. It also has a killing effect on external arthropods.

How long does the deworming drug take to work?

It depends on the onset time of the deworming drug itself. Some deworming drugs will achieve deworming effects within half an hour, while others need 2-3 hours to take effect. In normal cases, the onset time of internal deworming drugs is earlier than that of external deworming drugs. Some good deworming drugs can last up to a month, while some deviation ones can only last for about half a month.

How often to deworm?

In spring and summer, when there are more parasites, deworm the dog every 1-2 months. In autumn and winter, when there are fewer parasites, deworm the dog every 2-3 months. Generally, the dog's first deworming can be done one month after birth, using integrated internal and external deworming drugs, which are safer and more effective for young dogs. Dog vaccination should be separated from deworming drugs, preferably with a interval of 3-5 days to avoid dangers to the dog.
