Four Methods to Induce Vomiting in Dogs Quickly
There are four methods to induce vomiting in dogs quickly:
hydrogen peroxide vomiting: Dilute hydrogen peroxide with a certain ratio, but since hydrogen peroxide is toxic, be sure to strictly control the dosage. After vomiting, immediately flush the dog's stomach with a large amount of clean water to wash away the remaining hydrogen peroxide in the digestive tract.
soap water vomiting: Soap water is safe, easy to make, and effective. After vomiting, you can appropriately give the dog some clean water.
Giving dogs water to induce vomiting: Continue to give the dog water until it vomits.
Go to the pet hospital: Let professional pet doctors help the dog vomit.
Hydrogen Peroxide Vomiting
You can use 3% hydrogen peroxide diluted 1:1 for dog vomiting, which usually works well. Dogs are generally sensitive to the smell of hydrogen peroxide. When giving the dog the diluted hydrogen peroxide, use a syringe to suck it up and squeeze it into the dog's mouth through the gaps in its teeth. The dosage should be judged according to the dog's weight.
Note: When using hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting, special attention should be paid to its dosage because of its strong oxidizing property. Using too much concentrate may cause severe damage to the gastrointestinal tract. It is not recommended to give the dog hydrogen peroxide at home, it's better to consult a professional pet doctor.
- Soap Water Vomiting
Feeding soap water to dogs can induce vomiting, which is relatively safe. To induce vomiting with soap water, try using a large syringe to pour the soap water into the dog's mouth. After pouring it in, close the dog's mouth with your hand to make it swallow the soap water, thus achieving the purpose of vomiting. If the dog refuses to swallow, suggest using a tranquilizer, perform esophageal intubation, and quickly pour a large amount of soap water into the dog's esophagus through the intubation to achieve vomiting.
Note: After giving the dog soap water, let it exercise for a while. Generally, the dog will vomit within a few minutes after drinking soap water.
- Giving Dogs Water
If your dog accidentally eats something toxic outside and you can't find hydrogen peroxide or soap water, it's recommended to give the dog a large amount of water, which can also induce vomiting.
Note: Be sure to give the dog water until it vomits, which is the only way to get rid of the toxic substances!
- Going to the Vet for Vomiting
If conditions permit, it is recommended to take the dog directly to the pet hospital for vomiting, which is also the safest method.
