How to deal with dogs peeing and pooping everywhere
Dogs need to be trained to eliminate waste properly. The best time for training is when the dog is around 3 months old, as this is when the dog has completed its vaccinations and deworming, and can be allowed to roam freely at home. A larger activity area is more conducive to training. If you miss the optimal training time, don't worry. Dogs are very intelligent, and we can teach them where to go to the bathroom by using scientific guidance and patient teaching.
How can we teach dogs to habituate to going to the designated bathroom area? You can start from the following几个points:
Choose a bathroom area. First, understand the dog's habits. Dogs generally don't like to eliminate in places where they sleep and eat. Therefore, the designated bathroom area should be fixed in a position away from where the dog goes to the bathroom, and lay down urine pads and dog litter boxes with their smell. It's best not to feed the dog at this location. Once the training starts, don't change the sleeping, eating, and designated bathroom area. If the area is changed randomly, it may lead to confusion in the dog's memory and cause the dog to go to the bathroom everywhere.
Pay attention to the dog's elimination time. Dogs' physiological elimination time is usually 10 to 15 minutes before and after eating dog food and when they wake up. Catch these three timepoints and take the dog to the designated area to go to the bathroom for one to two weeks. With gradual training, the dog will remember the bathroom area.
Giving dogs rewards is necessary for training success. If the dog correctly goes to the bathroom at the designated area, the pet owner can give the dog some rewards, such as petting and snacks.
If your dog used to go to the designated area to eliminate but has recently started going everywhere, you need to pay special attention. It may be related to a new environment that the dog is not accustomed to, or it may be due to a digestive tract problem or other diseases that have caused changes in habits. It could also be due to the dog's heat.
