What to do when your cat defecates and urinates everywhere
When your cat defecates and urinates everywhere, it is essential to remove the smell of its excrement and urine from the areas it has defecated or urinated. Otherwise, it will think that the entire house is a suitable place to go to the bathroom. If your cat is too young, do not prepare a too high or large litter box, as the cat may not be able to enter it, resulting in random defecation and urination. Teach it how to use the litter box by placing its feces in the litter box in front of it and covering them with litter.
Causes of random defecation and urination
There may be several reasons for your cat's random elimination, including:
- Sexual maturity behaviors
- Diseases, such as gastrointestinal disorders, urinary tract disorders, arthritis, etc.
- The litter box being too small or placed in an inconvenient location
- Dislike of the litter type or uncleanliness of the litter box
- Stress caused by new people or animals in the household
Ways to prevent random defecation and urination
To ensure your cat defecates normally, consider the following:
- Feed your cat suitable and adequate food, preferably cat food
- Monitor your cat's health, get regular vaccinations and baths, and prevent diseases
- Encourage your cat to drink more water to maintain normal bowel movements and prevent constipation
Litter box training methods
Cats generally defecate in litter. You can place your cat near the litter box and let it explore the litter to learn how to defecate in it. If your cat doesn't know how to use the litter box, place a paper towel with its feces and urine on the bottom of the litter box, then place the cat near the litter box. This will teach it to defecate in the litter.
