How do ear mites occur in dogs?
There are many causes of ear mites in dogs, such as the owner never cleaning the dog's ear wax, water splashing into the ear canal during bathing and not being dealt with promptly, ear canal injury caused by dog fights and play, and untreated blood congestion leading to infection. External ear infections caused by various reasons, such as secondary bacterial infections.
Symptoms of ear mites
Ear mites are a parasitic disease caused by external parasites that cause inflammation of the outer ear due to the external ear canal. The main symptoms include hair loss, inflammation, unpleasant smell, reddish-brown crusts and ear wax inside the ear canal, and the dog may show signs of scratching its ears and shaking its head. Secondary bacterial infections can lead to inflammation of the ear, inner ear infection, and meningitis.
Treatment for ear mites
The dog's ear hair needs to be removed because the hair may contain mites. Clean the secretions in the ear canal, use ear drops to wipe the ear wax, and wait for the ear wax to soften before wiping it off with a clean cotton ball. Then apply a bacterial and mite-killing droplet, drip 1 to 2 drops into the ear canal, gently rub the surrounding area of the ear canal with your finger, and let go after 2 minutes so that the dog can shake its head naturally and expel the dirt from the ear canal. Since ear mites are a stubborn parasite, the dog owner can apply the medication multiple times a day according to the situation, continue using it for a period of time until the foreign objects and unpleasant smells are eliminated.
Prevention of ear mites
