How to completely eliminate cat tapeworms?
Cat tapeworms can be thoroughly eliminated using internal deworming drugs containing ingredients such as dihydrocarbamazine, praziquantel, and fenbendazole. Among them, praziquantel is not suitable for cats under 6 months old. In the early stages of a cat's tapeworm infection, there are usually no obvious symptoms. However, as the number of worms increases, you may find rice-sized segments near the cat's anus or in its feces. Tapeworms are a common internal parasite in cats, usually attacking the small intestine. Regular deworming is necessary to prevent infection.
Tapeworms in cats can be treated with internal deworming drugs containing dihydrocarbamazine, praziquantel, and fenbendazole. The dosage of the drug must be carefully selected based on the cat's weight to avoid either too low a dosage that fails to achieve deworming or too high a dosage that causes poisoning. After a cat has become infected with tapeworms, it is necessary to deworm it within the safe usage range of the drug, following the doctor's advice on the specific usage method.
Usually, a cat infected with tapeworms will not show obvious clinical symptoms in the early stage, but may exhibit symptoms such as soft stools, diarrhea, malnutrition, and dull fur later on. It is also possible to see dry, white or cream-colored tapeworm segments in the cat's feces. The cat may bite or lick its anus, or drag its hindquarters on the floor. In severe cases, tapeworms can even be found in vomit.
Cat tapeworms are mainly transmitted through fleas, hunting wild animals, and eating raw meat. Regular deworming (both internal and external) is necessary for prevention. When fleas are found on a cat, it is prone to swallowing fleas that contain tapeworm eggs while licking its fur. Therefore, while using external deworming drugs, it is also necessary to timely deworm the cat internally. It is also recommended to reduce the amount of raw meat fed to cats. If raw meat is to be fed, regular deworming is necessary to avoid parasite infection and harm the cat's health.
