How to Keep Cats Out of Bed
If you don't want your cat to sleep on your bed, here are a few methods you can try:
Provide a warm and comfortable cat bed: Cats may sleep on your bed because they find it warm and comforting. To prevent this, prepare a warm and cozy cat bed for them. Once your cat gets used to sleeping in its own bed, it will likely stop sleeping on yours.
Punish the cat: If you catch your cat jumping on the bed, gently reprimand it and pat its bottom. This will let the cat know that sleeping on the bed is a bad behavior. Repeat this process a few times and your cat should stop jumping on the bed. Be sure not to punish too harshly, or your cat might develop revengeful behaviors.
Spray unpleasant smells on the bed: Cats hate strong smells such as citrus, perfume, camphor, and onion. You can spray some of these smells on your bed to repel your cat. This way, your cat will avoid the bed and find somewhere else to sleep.
