How to remove lice from a dog

Dog lice removal:

Lice on a dog's body can be removed using topical insecticides containing ingredients such as non-泼罗尼 and selenium. If there are many lice on the dog, you can directly spot them with the naked eye, and notice numerous red spots and lice excrement on the dog's body, along with frequent scratching. It is usually necessary to administer topical insecticides to prevent lice once a month. If the dog has already contracted lice, treatment should be repeated one week after the last application of insecticides.

Transmission route:

Dog lice infection usually occurs through direct or indirect contact with infected dogs or items used by them. It is essential to administer topical insecticides regularly and reduce the dog's exposure to unfamiliar pets outdoors.

Symptoms:

Visible symptoms of dog lice include white scales, lice, and eggshells mixed in the dog's fur. Other signs include rough, unkempt fur, hair loss, and secondary seborrhea. In severe infections, dogs may exhibit anaemia and weakness. Treatment involves using medications containing ivermectin or selenium, along with lime sulfur baths. Dogs with severe anaemia may require blood transfusions.

Specialized shampoos:

Specialized pet shampoos containing pyrethrin or permethrin can also be used to treat dog lice. If the dog's lice infection is severe, shave the fur to ensure the medication reaches the deeper layers of the lice. Additionally, use pet-specific antibiotics and disinfect the dog's living environment and belongings to prevent reinfection.
