How to Keep Cats from Crying in Cages
To prevent cats from crying in cages, here are some tips:
- Distract the cat with treats or toys.
When a cat is suddenly confined to a cage, it may start crying due to feeling trapped. After putting the cat in the cage, you can distract it with its favorite treats, such as cat food, cat sticks, or snacks. You can also accompany it with toys to divert its attention and make it stop crying.
- Place familiar items in the cage.
Cats need some time to adapt to being in a cage. You can put some of the cat's usual daily necessities in the cage, such as clothes with a familiar smell or toys. This will make the cat feel more secure and possibly reduce its crying.
- Release the cat regularly.
If a cat stays in a cage for a long time without releasing its energy, it will keep crying. You can let the cat out of the cage periodically to let it exercise and release its energy. Also, you can use a catnip toy or other toys to entertain the cat and alleviate its depressed mood.
- Use calming agents for the cat.
If the cat is very excited and keeps crying in the cage, you can feed it some catnip or spray a calming mist to make it calm down.
Note: When putting the cat in the cage, be gentle and let the cat get familiar with it first before using food as a temptation.
