How to Keep Puppies from Barking at Night

If your puppy barks frequently at night, you may need to consider the cause. If the puppy is hungry, the owner should feed and water it; if it's cold, the owner should ensure its warmth; it may also be due to the puppy leaving its original living environment and needing some time to adapt to the new one.

Here are some possible reasons for a puppy barking constantly at night:

  1. Hunger and thirst: Most puppies need to eat at least three meals a day. To prevent barking due to hunger, the owner can feed the puppy before going to bed, ensuring that it is well-fed.

  2. Coldness: Puppies have weak bodies, low resistance, and incomplete immune systems. During this period, it is essential to keep them warm, especially when the weather cools down or when it rains. Some owners may turn the air conditioning down to low temperatures in summer, which is harmful to the puppy.

  3. Environmental changes: When a puppy leaves its mother and enters a new environment, the owner needs to give it time to adapt. Providing the puppy with some of its mother's belongings can help comfort it and help it through the adjustment period. The owner can also give it some of their old clothes and often stroke it to familiarize it with their scent, which can promote the relationship between the puppy and the owner.

  4. Sleep habits: Some puppies have abundant energy, sleeping more during the day and naturally not wanting to sleep at night. Owners can spend time interacting with the puppy before going to bed to help expend its energy, allowing it to sleep peacefully at night.
