How to Treat Doggy Pyoderma

If your dog shows symptoms of pyoderma, first take them to the hospital for examination and confirmation, and then undergo treatment under the guidance of a doctor. Pyoderma generally requires 1-3 weeks of treatment. During treatment, first clean the hair around the affected area, then squeeze out the pus, rinse with saline, and disinfect with diluted hydrogen peroxide. After cleaning and disinfecting, apply antibacterial external sprays or erythromycin ointment to the affected area. If your dog's symptoms are severe, you will need to use antibiotics containing ampicillin and cefovecin under the guidance of a doctor.

  1. Pyoderma is a common bacterial skin disease in dogs, caused by bacterial infection in the hair follicles of the skin surface. As a secondary infection, allergies or endocrine diseases are the most common underlying causes.

  2. The treatment of pyoderma usually lasts 1-3 weeks and requires confirmation by a doctor before starting treatment. First, trim the hair around the affected area with scissors to expose the skin for subsequent treatment. Then squeeze out the pus, rinse with saline, and disinfect with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Finally, apply antibacterial external sprays and涂抹erythromycin ointment to the affected area. Also, put an Elizabethan collar on your dog to prevent them from licking the wound.

If your dog's condition is severe, you can use antibiotics containing ingredients such as ampicillin and cefovecin. However, never use antibiotics yourself at home without consulting a doctor.

Note: Pyoderma is prone to recurrence, so during treatment, be sure to give your dog medication on time and thoroughly disinfect the surrounding environment. At the same time, supplement your dog's diet with nutrients containing unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and trace elements to improve their skin immunity.
