Signs of a hungry cat
When a cat is hungry, it usually exhibits the following behaviors: constant meowing, being extra clingy, gently biting the owner, and chewing on cat food bags. If you notice your cat displaying these signs, it's time to prepare plenty of cat food and clean drinking water to avoid any discomfort caused by prolonged hunger. It's also important to stick to a regular feeding schedule of small meals, timely、quantitative, and at a fixed location, and avoid frequently changing cat food, as this can cause stomach discomfort, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- Constantly meowing
The most common sign of a hungry cat is constant meowing, searching for food in places where they usually eat or wandering around looking for something to eat. The meowing sound will be more shrill and annoying compared to usual. If you notice your cat making this sound, and the cat's bowl is empty, and it's been a while since their last meal, it's likely that they're hungry. At this point, you should feed your cat appropriately, avoiding feeding too much at once to avoid hurting their stomach.
- Being extra clingy
When a cat is hungry, they may also display extra clingy behavior, such as rubbing their head and body against your feet, staying next to you obediently, and even unusually following you around and being extra cute and cuddly. If you still don't feed your cat at this point, they might become too weak from hunger. Therefore, always feed your cat on time and in a定量 manner.
- Gently biting the owner
When a cat is extremely hungry and you don't add food, they might try to remind you by licking or gently biting your hand. Especially for cats with gentle personalities, if they suddenly start biting you lightly, it could be because they're hungry and will also lick your fingers. If you don't pay attention, you might get bitten by the cat. This is also a sign that you should feed your cat appropriately and correct their biting habit.
- Chewing on cat food bags
Some cats, when they're hungry, will take action and chew on cat food bags to see if they can get some food to fill their stomach. If your cat does this, you should pay attention because letting them do it freely can lead to overeating and indigestion.
