Subcutaneous hard lump in dog
A hard lump under the dog's skin may be caused by poor drug absorption after vaccination, furunculosis, carbuncle, lymphadenitis, lymph node tuberculosis, and sebaceous cysts. It requires improvement through general treatment, drugs, physical therapy, and surgery. Treatment is beneficial for the regression of the local skin lump and reduces the damage to the skin after the disease.
- Poor drug absorption after vaccination
If a dog has just received a vaccine and has poor drug absorption, a tumor-like swelling will form at the injection site, which is hard in texture. Local massage can be done to accelerate blood circulation and promote drug absorption.
- Furunculosis
Mainly caused by bacterial infection, it presents as red papules centered on the hair follicles. In severe cases, it may cause local suppuration, forming a hard lump. Treatment requires obedience to the doctor's advice and taking pet-specific antibiotics.
- Carbuncle
It is an acute suppurative inflammation that occurs in the hair follicle and its deep surrounding tissues. It causes a painful nodule or nodules of半球形,hard as peas, and needs to be improved through physical therapy, mainly laser or infrared radiation.
- Lymphadenitis
It is a benign lesion usually caused by bacterial infection, which leads to swelling and pain of lymph nodes throughout the body. The texture is hard, and medical advice should be followed to use antibiotic ointments.
- Lymph node tuberculosis
Usually caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, it causes enlarged lymph nodes, low fever, night sweats, and other symptoms. When local lesions occur, the lymph nodes continue to enlarge and become hard. Treatment under a doctor's guidance includes taking anti-tuberculosis drugs.
- Sebaceous cyst
It is a cyst that can occur on any part of the body skin, mainly caused by blocked sebaceous ducts in the skin. It leads to a hard lump on the local skin and requires surgical treatment under a doctor's operation.
During treatment, it is recommended for the owner to regularly take the dog to the hospital for follow-up visits to understand the specific situation of skin recovery.
