How long does a Teddy dog take to recover from a cold?

Usually, a Teddy dog will recover from a cold in 3 to 5 days. Dogs with strong bodies and good resistance may recover on their own in 2-3 days. However, some dogs may develop tracheitis, bronchitis, and other diseases if not treated in time. Additionally, colds can also be caused by influenza viruses, which are contagious and may cause high fever in dogs. The treatment time for this type of cold is relatively longer, possibly needing around two weeks.

Due to seasonal changes, sudden temperature drops, exposure to cold winds, and other factors that can cause a Teddy dog to catch a cold, it is essential to keep your dog warm and boost its resistance.

A Teddy dog with a cold usually recovers in 3-5 days, sometimes needing up to 7-10 days. Dogs with exceptional resistance may recover in just 1-2 days. If there is no improvement after 10 days, it is necessary to consult a veterinarian, as the condition may worsen into bronchitis or pneumonia.

Medications available for use during a Teddy dog's cold include:

  1. Scutellaria root injection, 1-2 milliliters, intramuscular injection, 2 times daily.

  2. Penicillin, 50,000 units per kilogram of body weight, intramuscular injection, 2 times daily.

  3. Dogs can take traditional Chinese medicine such as Isatis root or cold-relieving granules. Ensure your dog gets plenty of rest, drinks enough water, and receives additional nutrition, especially vitamins!

To keep your Teddy dog warm during its cold, you can pad the area where it sleeps or plays with cotton fabric, blankets, and place hot water bottles or stoves nearby. This will help prevent the condition from worsening.
