Tips for removing cat urine smell

1. Choose better-absorbing cat litter

If the cat urine smell in the litter is quite strong, you can consider switching to a more absorbent cat litter or adding a certain amount of activated carbon to the litter. Pine and soybean cat litters are good choices. Additionally, you can purchase cat urine deodorizers, decomposers, and cover agents, but the overall effect may not be as ideal.

2. Clean the litter box promptly

The stronger the cat urine smell, the longer it stays uncleaned, the more intense the smell becomes. Therefore, when discovering cat urine, clean it promptly.

3. Use white vinegar and 84 disinfectant

If the cat urine smell on the floor is particularly strong and persistent, spray white vinegar on the spot where the cat urinated to eliminate the odor, and then use 84 disinfectant to mop the floor. For urine spots and odors on beds or clothes, mix equal parts of water and vinegar in a spray bottle, spray it on the affected areas, and then put them in the washing machine for normal cleaning.

4. Remove cat urine smell with beer

The special molecules released during the brewing process can neutralize odors. First, wipe the urine-soaked area with clean water, then pour some beer on it. Let it evaporate for a while, and then mop the floor clean. If it doesn't work the first time, you can try multiple times until the cat urine smell is gone.

5. Remove cat urine from the source

First, ensure that your cat drinks enough water every day. Only when the cat's urine is adequately diluted can the urine smell be significantly reduced. If your cat doesn't like to drink water, you can feed it some cat food or vegetables. Secondly, if the cat urinates everywhere due to heat or hatred towards the owner, you can improve the relationship between the cat and the owner, and consider taking the cat to the vet for spaying or neutering if necessary.
