What medicine is good for cat deworming?
Cat deworming can be divided into internal deworming and external deworming. For internal deworming, it is recommended to use drugs containing ingredients such as milbemycin, which have a smaller stimulation to the cat's stomach and achieve good deworming effects.
For external deworming, parasites such as fleas, lice, and mites can be effectively eliminated by using drugs containing ingredients like selamectin. If the cat's weight or age is small, it is recommended to use drugs containing selamectin, which have a higher safety factor and less stimulation to the cat's body.
In addition, there are deworming drugs that have both internal and external deworming effects. These drugs are applied to the skin, causing minimal stimulation to the cat and avoiding the discomfort of oral administration.
Kittens are recommended to undergo internal and external deworming once a month, which is beneficial for their healthy growth. For adult cats, it is suggested to undergo internal deworming once every 1-2 months and external deworming once every 2-3 months. It is best to feed cooked meat to cats as much as possible and avoid feeding raw meat to prevent infection by certain parasites. Note that conventional deworming mainly targets roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms. If a cat is infected with other parasites such as giardia or coccidia, conventional deworming drugs will be ineffective and specific deworming drugs will need to be used.
