Visit the vet for a checkup to determine the cause.
Firstly, rule out infections by fungi, bacteria, mites, and calicivirus. Treat accordingly if the cause is identified.
If the issue is related to the sebaceous glands, such as abnormal oil secretions:
• (1) Use a warm wet towel to apply heat to the chin for 30 seconds daily.
• (2) Apply a small amount of 2.5% or 5% peroxide benzoate gel to the chin, making sure not to apply it to the mouth.
• (3) If your cat shows signs of skin redness and scratching after use, it means that this method is not suitable for your cat. You should choose another option, such as a cream containing salicylic acid.
• (4) Doctor's diagnosis is crucial, and simultaneously, suitable food is also essential.
