What to do when your puppy loves to bite your hand
You want to play with your dog, but no chance! It's constantly biting your hand, biting wherever you touch, and biting no matter how you play. Its target is always your hand. What should you do in this situation?
Firstly: Play with it!
Move its attention from your hand to a toy. Spend some time playing with it to dissipate its excess energy. This way, its attention will be on the toy instead of your hand. Choose a durable toy it can chew on, and use it as a substitute for your flesh to vent its energy.
Next, it's time for a little snack! Train it while it's playing tirelessly. When it gets tired, offer it a small snack to teach it to wait and calm down. This is a good opportunity to teach it to sit. I prefer using pudding for training because it allows it to lick slowly. When it sits steadily, give it the pudding. If it tries to bite, stop it and encourage it to lick instead. Dogs are usually gentler when eating, which helps with the training.
We're not bribing it with snacks, but using them to teach it. Teach it to treat both your hand and its snacks with gentleness.
