What to feed a goldendoodle with a cold
When a goldendoodle has a cold, it should be fed nutritious and easy-to-digest food. Examples include nutritional supplements, carp soup, boneless fish, and bone broth, which can enhance the dog's constitution and help it fight disease. A dog with a cold will have its overall health affected, making it weaker. Therefore, owners should feed it easy-to-digest food to help it absorb nutrients.
Symptoms of a cold
A goldendoodle with a cold may exhibit symptoms such as runny nose, coughing, increased body temperature, sneezing, and increased eye discharge. As the initial symptoms of canine distemper are similar to those of a cold, owners cannot distinguish between them directly. If your dog shows some or all of these symptoms, it is recommended to go to the vet for a confirmed diagnosis as soon as possible.
What to do if your dog has a fever
First, use a thermometer to measure your goldendoodle's rectal temperature to check if its body temperature is normal. If the temperature is too high, it is recommended to send the dog to the hospital for treatment promptly. If the temperature is slightly higher than normal, the owner can buy cold medicine for the dog at a pet hospital. Meanwhile, wipe the dog's armpits and limbs with alcohol to help reduce its body temperature physiologically.
What medication to take for coughing
Dog colds usually present with a combination of symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, and runny nose. If it is merely a simple respiratory infection and the dog has no infection of contagious diseases such as canine distemper or canine parainfluenza, the main treatment principle is to expectorate phlegm and relieve cough, as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. You can give the dog some Ephedra杏仁甘口服液和多西环素口服,治疗3-5天左右。如果病情加重,可能需要做雾化治疗或输液。
