Why do cats like to lie on computers?
Cats like to lie on computers, possibly because computers produce heat and have a higher temperature, so they use it as a way to keep warm. It could also be that their owners spend a lot of time on the computer, neglecting the cats, so they try to attract their owners' attention by lying on the computer, hoping for them to play with them. In addition, cats are naturally curious and want to explore the keyboard, mouse, and other devices on the computer. If you don't want your cat to lie on the computer, you can put a suitably sized box next to it. The cat will be comfortable inside the box and won't disturb you.
- Keeping warm
Computers produce heat, so when the weather is cold, cats like to lie on them because it feels warm and comfortable. Not only computers, but also devices that emit heat, such as routers, are favorite spots for cats to lie down.
- Attracting owner's attention
Some cats are very affectionate. If they see their owners spending a lot of time on the computer, they might feel neglected and try to attract their attention by lying on the computer. If the owner doesn't pay attention to the cat, it will keep wandering between the owner and the computer screen until the owner notices it. If this is the case, it is recommended that the owner temporarily put down what they are doing and play with the cat, rewarding it with some small treats to make it happy.
- Curiosity
Cats have a strong curiosity. Anything they haven't seen or are interested in, they want to find an opportunity to explore. The movement and sound of the owner typing on the keyboard, as well as the lights on the keyboard, the fast-moving images on the screen, or the bright colors will stimulate the cat's curiosity.
