Why do cats crawl into bed?
Cats might crawl into bed because they feel cold and want to warm up inside the covers. Secondly, some cats may be timid and lack a sense of security, so they want to crawl into bed and sleep with their owners. Additionally, younger cats may enjoy crawling into bed because of their curiosity, wanting to see what's moving under the covers. However, owners should also be aware that if their cats frequently crawl into bed, they need to ensure proper parasite control both internally and externally to prevent infection.
- Feeling cold
Cats are sensitive to cold and will seek out warmer places when they feel cold. Since beds are usually soft and warm, cats find them comfortable and decide to crawl in. To address this, owners can make their cat's bed more comfortable and place warm items in it to prevent their cats from getting cold.
- Lack of security
Some cats are naturally timid and thus lack a sense of security. Since beds are where owners often stay, and they carry a scent that cats find reassuring, cats feel more secure when they crawl into bed with their owners. If owners don't mind, it's generally not a problem as long as they keep up with parasite prevention. However, care should be taken not to accidentally hurt the cat while sleeping.
- Curiosity
Cats are naturally curious, especially younger ones who are still unfamiliar with their surroundings. When they see their owners inside the covers, they can't help but want to crawl in and see what's going on. This curiosity is a natural trait of cats and can't be changed.
